Howell V. Potts age 80 of Avery passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Potts was born December 18, 1928 in Clarksville to Otis and Mamie Potts. He retired from the Red River Army Depot, loved to play golf, an avid fisherman, served his country in the U.S. Army and was of the Presbyterian faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Caldwell Potts and two brothers.
Survivors include a son, Charles Hodgson of Emory; daughter, Paula Storey and husband Ben Ray of the English Community; three granddaughters, Sheri Hamm and husband Phil, Staci Moore and husband John and Lindsey McEwin and husband Devin; three great- granddaughters, Kyleigh Hamm, Jaci Moore and Storey McEwin; two sisters, Jean Townes and husband Perry of Richwood and Pauline Presley of DeKalb; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009 in Jamison Chapel Cemetery with Rev. James Brown officiating. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
